Teen Leadership Camp @ 541 is an amazing volunteer opportunity for local teens offered by 541 every summer. Participants will be given the opportunity to volunteer for 4 days (all in one week or spread out over the course of a month) and get a feel for what it is like to work in a cafe setting.
Every day of TLC will involve training in a variety of activities that are crucial to the day-to-day operations of 541 Eatery & Exchange. By the end of your week you will be able to add customer service, dish-washing, kitchen preparation, cleaning and gardening to your resume and all of the hours will be able to be used towards community service hours required for high school graduation. Every day will run from 9am-3:30pm and will include a lunch break, during which you will get to enjoy something from our delicious menu “on the house” as a thank you for your hard work during the day.

Such an exciting response: both the Culinary and Customer Service spots are all filled!
There are still some spaces left in the Christian Service Experience though
CHRISTIAN SERVICE EXPERIENCE:
Each day you will be involved in an assortment of tasks: food prep, customer service, etc. Each shift you will have the option of spending a portion of your time discussing scripture with one of our summer youth outreach staff and other teens, looking the connection between serving others and spiritual growth.
CULINARY FOCUS: IS NOW FULL!
Each day a larger percentage of your day will be spent in the kitchen working on food preparation and each shift you will spend a portion of time with one of our in-house Chefs getting some specialized training. This is an excellent option for someone considering culinary arts long term. CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Each day a larger percentage of your hours will be spent up front working on the customer experience and each shift you will spend a portion of time with one of our Front of House managers getting some specialized training. This is an excellent option for someone hoping to be part of the restaurant/cafe business, or any customer service industry really, down the road.
Spaces are filling up quick (culinary stream is already full)!, so apply soon to increase your chances of getting in!
